Course The Fergus Snoddy Half Marathon is a running/walking event that will give you a great experience on Crowley's Ridge. While the majority of Northeast Arkansas is completely flat, the course will let you experience most of the hills in Jonesboro. Because of Crowley's Ridge, there are quite a few elevation changes. We will have about several groups stationed along the course to cheer you on and take your mind off the road ahead.
- Please limit the use of cell phones during the race.
- Race officials will be stationed along the course to monitor the participants to ensure that each finisher has completed a full 13.1 miles (half marathon). ANY PARTICIPANT FOUND TO HAVE RUN/WALK LESS THAN THE FULL COURSE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE RACE. DO NOT CROSS THE FINISH LINE IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE ENTIRE COURSE.
- WALKERS: Because we take great care to have a walking division and we want to make sure the winners receive the proper credit on race day for their achievement. If you register as a walker, you MUST walk the entire course. If you run ANY part of the race, DO NOT register as a walker, you must register as a runner. You will be disqualified if run any part of the race and you will NOT be issued an official time. Walking is defined as having at least one foot in contact with the ground at all times.
- No "coaches", bicycles, roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, baby joggers, or animals will be allowed on the racecourse at any time. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Assistance received from any other source than an official of the Fergus Snoddy Trail Half Marathon may result in disqualification.
- Any deviations from the marked course can result in a disqualification and serious injury.
- Visible mile markers and volunteers calling times will be positioned along the course at every mile.
- Digital clocks at the Finish Line will display your unofficial time.
- One Start and Finish Aid Station
- 5 Course Aid Stations (one every two miles), then one every mile from 11 to 13.
- Gatorade and Water will be provided at each Aid Station.
- Medical aid stations are located at mile six, eight, ten, and finish line area.
Half Marathon - 4 hours The course closes to participants on a rolling schedule with the finish line closing at noon. To complete the course in stated times, participants must be able to maintain a consistent pace of approximately 18:30 per mile. Under no circumstances may participants be on the course before the official start time. Beginning before the official start time will result in disqualification. If participants choose to continue after the course closes, they do so at their own risk and may be asked by the Jonesboro Police Department to move up to the sidewalks.
